Volunteering with Youth
Our volunteers are the backbone of most of our programs here at St. Dominic Parish. Each person gives freely of his or her time and talents to make our children's lives richer. We thank every person who is able to help us. There are guidelines and requirements to volunteer with any Youth in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Below are the requirements. If you have any questions, feel free to call Theresa Eagan, Pastoral Associate, at 471-7741 ext. 481 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are two parts:
1. Virtus: All volunteers and employees must be trained using the Virtus session. Go to www.virtus.org and create an account. You will be asked to create a user name and password. Fill in all your information and list St. Dominic as your volunteer site. (You may list other sites as well.) After you have your account set up click on the "Training" tab. Find a training session that fits into your schedule and register for that site. ALL REGISTRATION IS DONE ONLINE. Arrive 15 minutes early at the site so you can sign in and receive the materials needed. Complete the session. Each month you will need to read and respond to an update that will be online. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL REMINDER, go to the site on the 15th of each month and check for your update. Please stay current on the updates or your account may be inactivated.
2. Selection.com background check: After attending a Virtus training session, go to your Virtus account and click on the "Toolbox" tab, then the "selection.com online background check" listing. Unlike in the past, it is all online. If you are volunteering for a St. Dominic organization like Athletics, PTO, etc. contact that group first to see if they will pay for the background check for you. If they do you will receive a "token" number to use for payment. If not the site takes credit cards. Fill out all the information online and use a credit card or the token number for payment.
